Doug struggled his whole adult life with mental illness. He was found dead in his apartment by his father. He fell and hit his head most likely due to improper intake of his meds, but the cause isn't completley clear. He really suffered. I knew him since Kindergarten; he was such a gentle soul.
Doug ran xc with the team for a year, and it took us hours to find him after the race, he went off course and kept running. The Conestoga bus picked him up and brought him back!!! I can still remember his smile and the joy he brought everyone who knew him. I am sorry for such a tragic ending. Phyllis Delate
