I am so sorry to hear of this.  I had been thinking about him lately and even tried to find him on facebook.  I do remember his love of music and am glad that he followed this talent.  We had some fun times with him in High School and I wish that I had kept in touch after college.

I was recently at a David Newman (Durga Das) show (the gentleman in the video posted) at the Tin Angel in Philadelphia and afterward I bought his newest CD "Stars".  D.N. dedicated the CD to "...Rama Bala and Renjith lya, two luminous souls who blessed us all with their beautiful music and loving hearts."  And on D.N.'s myspace, he calls Rama "guitarist extraordinaire".  Could this be my friend from high school? And then the memorial notice.

I am very saddened to hear of his death.  I remember him as bright and cheerful, always friendly, helpful and hopeful.  I also remember his full name by heart still, as I learned it for graduation ceremony.  Rama, a strange coincidence brought your memory to me, and I am moved and inspired by your life.  Thank you.

I am also very saddened to hear of all our classmates who have died.  Life surely is precious and fragile.

Hear, Hear Jeff. I knew Rama from Chatham Park days. I think we all memorized his lengthy, melodic, full name back then. I still know it today--Ram ChanderBala Subramanian. Great classmate. Great guy.
